Who We Are
Tinaz Vevaina,
MA, MFT,CH, is a highly competent Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified in Hypnosis, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and specializing in Couples Therapy. She is also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor for Interns and Trainees. Her 30 years’ experience with individuals, couples and families has led Tinaz to believe that people have inherent resources that they can mobilize to heal and create new possibilities for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth and success.
She combines traditional psychotherapy with nontraditional clinical hypnosis to transform problematic life stories into stories of hope, healing and personal and professional success. Tinaz graduated from the University of Bombay, India, with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She had a thriving private practice for 11 years in addition to doing research and teaching at a Medical College. She immigrated to the US in 1988, completed a year long internship at Boston City Hospital in Boston, MA, studying multicultural psychology. She is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati. Following that she did 2 years’ advanced training in Couple and Family Therapy at the Kantor Family Institute, Cambridge, MA. For several years she has developed a private practice in Newport Beach. She is the Director of Training at Diamond Family Counseling, a group practice that she co-founded.

- Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a new, cutting-edge, intensive treatment program that focuses on “in the moment” coaching of parents to improve the quality of their relationships with their children. It significantly increases children’s compliance while decreasing inappropriate behaviors.
Sandra S. Fleischaker,
LCSW, (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), obtained a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California (USC). She is currently Co-founder of Diamond Family Center, (DFC), and is a strong believer in assisting and empowering adults, adolescents, children, and families to discover their true nature and positive attributes in order to improve their quality of life. Sandra’s concentration at USC was Industrial, which combines Clinical Psychotherapy with Business Planning and Program Development.
Sandra was born in Colombia and raised in the United States, and is proficient in Spanish and English. Her passion for helping others led her to co-found and create Diamond Family Center’s group psychotherapy practice. DFC is a place where clients of all ages and cultural backgrounds can learn how to survive a crisis, solve a problem, or work out personality and relationship issues, in order lead satisfying lives, as well as strengthen the homes and communities in which they live. For nearly a decade, she has worked in both nonprofits, such as Olive Crest, (a nonprofit dedicated to preventing child abuse and protecting at-risk youths), and Diamond Counseling and Treatment Center ( a nonprofit established to assist families in crisis) and private practice.
As a therapist and strong advocate of social services, Sandra knows how individuals and families who need help or are in crisis can benefit from additional support. She has walked with many clients, helping them find access to appropriate services. As a therapist, Sandra finds and promotes safe harbors for victims of violence, rape, domestic violence, child abuse, HIV/AIDS-related problems, and those facing financial struggles.
Sandra’s accumulated knowledge, experience, and training is based on her strong belief that everyone can learn new skills, new ways of thinking, and begin to create opportunities for personal growth. She uses a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic , narrative, reality, and spiritual, based on each client’s needs. Sandra brings compassion and empathy to the therapy room, is nonjudgmental and easy to confide in, and is receptive to each client’s personal story. She is known for her ability to turn challenges into insightful metaphors, which enable clients to change their perceptions and begin the process toward growth and healing.
